Does anybody know if the name of the Woman with the Issue of Blood is known? I have a suffering friend for whom I am enlisting the prayers of this faith-filled woman, and I feel like I should know her name, but I don't.
I do not know of her having an officially declared name. This page: http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=1953 at Catholic Online mentions that St. Veronica (the one who wipes the face of Jesus in the Stations of the Cross) is identified in "the apocryphal Acts of Pilate [...] with the woman mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew who suffered from an issue of blood."
I guess it's still non-conclusive as to what the woman's name is. Well, I'm happy to report that my friend is doing a bit better these days, so obviously the Woman is praying for her, and I thank God for being so responsive!
